Special dinners #1 and #2

We enjoy special dinners on Wednesdays.  For special dinners we eat at a restaurant other than Essighaus or Burgfreiheit.

For our first special dinner, we walked to China-Restaurant Asia (that is the actual name). This restaurant lies in the heart of Old Town, right next to the Old Bridge.

I sat next to Sydney.  Sydney's parents had participated in the Heidelberg Program in the same year more than two decades ago.  I am grateful that Sydney has chosen to follow in her parents' footsteps.

Sydney and I found other uses for chopsticks.

Jacob, Michelle, and Stephanie sat at our table.

I have no pictures of the food because it tasted so good that I forgot about taking pictures.  We particularly enjoyed the roasted duck and lightly fried fish.

For our second special dinner, we walked to Alte Gundtei, which serves Turkish food.  This gentleman is the owner of the restaurant. He cooks and serves.

Look at this beautiful chandelier.

Mac likes to make the peace sign whenever I photograph the Heidelberg group.  We make the peace sign together in this picture.

We had a choice of veal or lamb kebabs.  I chose lamb.  It was the best lamb that I had ever eaten.

When we returned to the Haus, Kaitlyn showed me her new dirndl. I hope to take a picture of the entire Heidelberg group in lederhosen and dirndl toward the end of the semester, as more and more students buy these traditional German outfits.
