When I arrived at LAX, Drake and Martin informed me that the students, who all had arrived on time at 4 a.m., had already cleared security. I was so proud of the students for being on time.
I checked in my luggage. Suitcases had to weigh 50 pounds or fewer for our United flight. My suitcases met the requirement.
I cleared security and headed to the departure gate. I was greeted by smiling faces.
While we waited for our 8:01 a.m. flight to Chicago and then to Frankfurt, the students talked with one another or played games.
The circle of students played Catchphrase.
Boarding time.
In Chicago we picked up Stephanie and Meredith.
We got lunch and played more games while we waited for our 7 p.m. flight to Frankfurt.
This game involves the holder of the cell phone guessing a series of words or terms that the screen of the cell phone shows to the other players who give clues of what the words or terms are. When I held the screen, I choose the category labeled "Animals gone wild." The only animal I guessed correctly was "worm." How does a worm go wild?
The monitor in the plane showed our flight path from Chicago to Frankfurt.
The monitor also showed the distance between Chicago and Frankfurt.
