After breakfast, I walked into town to get my picture taken for the required visa application to stay in Heidelberg. I ran into Megan, Michelle, and Omar. Megan navigated us to a functional photo booth. We were required NOT to smile or show any teeth in our picture.
We next went to Penny Markt for me to pick up ingredients to make chocolate chip cookies for House Church on Sunday. In case I can't successfully bake the cookies because I can't figure out the new oven in my apartment, I bought a box of already made cookies as backup. The students helped me to carry the bags of groceries. Before heading back to Moore Haus, we ate at Istanbul, a Turkish restaurant.
I noticed this hinge, which holds back a window shutter, as we walked back to Moore Haus. At the top of the hinge is the head of a person. I appreciate this playfulness and functional creativity.
Sarah Jane dances, plays the piano, paints, and draws. As I am uploading these pictures, I am enjoying her playing in the Reception Room which is right next to my apartment. When she plays "Let it go" from Frozen, I am tempted to burst into the Reception Room and belt out the lyrics to the song. But I refrain from doing so because I don't want to ruin the beauty of her playing with my sounds.
People getting a good viewing spot for the fireworks that commemorate Heidelberg Castle's being bombed by the French during WWII.
Sorry folks, no pictures of the fireworks because my cell phone ran out of battery.
