Lanterns for St. Martin's Day - Nov. 11

On St. Martin's Day, children in Germany make a lantern, walk to the main square of their town with their lantern, and join a parade that ends with a bonfire.  In celebration of St. Martin's Day, Frau Wuttke gave us lanterns and informed us of the location of a parade that we can join at 5 p.m.

Jake and Tawni assemble their lanterns.

Lanterns with real candles inside.

Upon exiting Essighaus after dinner, I see a small group of young adults carrying lanterns and singing songs.

Prof. Hollas-Culton rides her bicycle home from Essighaus after the faculty meeting over dinner.  In contrast, I happily accept Frau Wuttke's offer of a ride back up to Moore Haus.
