Christmas cookie frosting and tree decorating - November 28

Today I spent the entire morning until 2 p.m. baking Christmas sugar cookies for the students to frost in the evening.  After coming back from teaching in town, I made the frosting.  I couldn't find food coloring, so I improvised.  I bought 10-gram tubes of colored sugar gel for decorating cupcakes.  I used the entire content of each tube to produce the colors you see below for the frosting.  (The white frosting consists of just powder sugar and milk.) As you can see, I couldn't get Christmas tree green or Christmas stocking red.  But that did not matter to the students.

Hannah counted the number of sugar cookies I had baked.  She reported 168.

The frosting started at 9:30 p.m.
