President and Mrs. Benton join the students for dinner at Essighaus. October 21

The manager of Essighaus came out to talk with President Benton.

President Benton sat with a large table of students.

When most of us had finished our entrée. the lights in the dinning room went out for the first time since we have been eating at this restaurant. I thought perhaps it was an electrical outage. But the restaurant staff had turned off the lights because they were bringing out sundaes on trays with a lighted candle for two people celebrating their birthday:

Zach

Dr. Henry Price

President Benton had learned that both Zach's and Dr. Price's birthday was October 17.  Thus, he arranged for sundaes to be brought out (minus the candle for the rest of us).

A group picture of President and Mrs. Benton with all of us in the Heidelberg Program (minus Ashley, who took the picture).

After the group picture, President Benton and Mrs. Benton continued to chat with the students.

Notice the Pepperdine Home Sweet Home sign on the wall in this picture.

All of us thoroughly enjoyed the visit from President and Mrs. Benton.
