Tanner: Champion Eater

Tanner reigns as Champion Eater among us.  He typically finishes his meal quickly.  Then with fork in hand, he walks to others and asks if they want to give him what's on their plate. Last night, Tanner ate his plate of pasta and finished the plates of five other students.  Furthermore, while Alli was not looking, he twirled a forkful of pasta off her plate.  You can see Alli's reaction in the photo below.  (Alli gave me permission to post this picture on my blog.)

Heidelween Party at Moore Haus. October 27

This past weekend, Micah worked on making the decorations for the Heidelween Party.

 On Monday night she transformed the breakfast room into a party room.

 (This panoramic picture distorts the dimensions of the room, but it gives a good sense of the festive Halloween mood.)

These ghoulishly good crackers vanished quickly.

I find a second Vietnamese restaurant in Heidelberg.

Tiger and Dragon's Food Corner competes for customers diagonally across from Good Morning, Saigon!  Each restaurant offers items not served by the other one.  For example, Good Morning, Saigon! offers banh mi (sandwiches) but not pho.  In contrast, Tiger and Dragon's Food Corner offers pho but not banh mi.

Ich liebe Joghurt in Heidelberg!

I usually do not eat yogurt in the U.S.  Since coming to Heidelberg, I cannot seem to get enough of silky smooth yogurt that tastes like a fruit smoothie or extra soft tofu dessert in ginger syrup at dim sum restaurants.  What I have been consuming:

Caramel cannot be healthy.

Micah asked me to bake pumpkin muffins for the Halloween Party tonight at 10 p.m.  I baked pumpkin chocolate muffins and frosted them.  Here are the results:

I would never have guessed that this door serves as a walking entrance to (also exit from) a parking garage for its customers.

 Notice the knob in the middle of the door.

 The exterior of the parking garage.  Cars tend to park in underground garages.  Therefore, I do not see many parked cars on the streets of Old Town.

Three bus lines stop here.  The electronic board shows the next arrival time for each line.  I appreciate this useful information.
